Dates announced for South East Asia’s first exhibition dedicated to the paper, film and foil converting industry.

Organisers of the world’s leading exhibition for the paper, film, and foil converting industry Mack Brooks Exhibitions, will bring the ICE exhibition to South East Asia from the 5-7 September 2018. The first exhibition of its kind for the region will be held at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) and will co locate with the successful CCE South East Asia exhibition.

An enthusiastic response to the official launch during ICE Europe earlier this month, has seen a wide range of suppliers already select booth space. Equipment suppliers covering technologies from slitter winders and rewinding machinery to specific machine part cleaning units are already represented on the ICE South East Asia floor plan.

In addition to the early suppliers booking space, strong support from the Association of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) includes a planned group of AIMCAL members showcasing their expertise. Craig Sheppard Executive Director of AIMCAL reports “We are delighted to hear that the ICE exhibition will debut in South East Asia in 2018. Our members will be looking forward to this exhibition and will be excited about the opportunity to present the expertise we possess, to the exciting ASEAN market”. Further activities will be planned around the AIMCAL participation, for more information please contact the show organisers via the details below.

Strong local support for the exhibition from associations including the Thai Pulp and Paper Industries Association and the Thai Screen and Graphic Print Association, indicates a need of improved converting equipment in the ASEAN market. The region has a consuming population of 620million over half are classified as middle class. This young and affluent demographic is driving consumption rates and enforcing an incredible stress on the supply industries of heavy converted material users, like food and beverage, electronics, packaging, printing and cosmetics.

Kanokwara Anutarawatr – Senior Manager of Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia comments “We hear from industries across the region that factories and plants are struggling to keep up with the volume and increasingly complicated applications consumers are demanding. This leads to stresses of the supply which industrial sectors in SE Asia are trying to fill. Suppliers are now looking for the best converting equipment to help them expand, upgrade, increase efficiency and improve product choice to their customers. Access to world leading converting equipment suppliers will help the industries in SE Asia bridge that gap.”

The ICE series of events which also include ICE USA (Orlando), ICE China (Shanghai) as well as the mother show ICE Europe (Munich), provides a unique platform dedicated to the specific requirements of converters and converting process vital to industrial sectors. ICE South East Asia will provide the regional industries with world leading suppliers of paper film and foil converting equipment.

Kanokwara continues “the ICE shows are famous and popular with buyers worldwide because of their specific and unique subject matter. Visitors to ICE South East Asia know they will meet, learn discover and discuss with leading equipment and solution suppliers that are key to their business or specific part of their production process. The converting industry has the confidence and the trust in the ICE brand to deliver vital solutions to the industry that they would otherwise not have access to.”

Mr.Montri Mahaplerkpong, the president of Thai Pulp and Paper Industry Association (TPPIA) said “the region is experiencing the significant growth in many sectors including food and beverage, electronics and cosmetics which in turn is increasing the demand for more variable flexible packaging solutions. We welcome the ICE exhibition to the region and we are looking forward to meeting the market leading suppliers that can assist in our aim to satisfy the current and future demands being placed on our sectors.”

The exhibition will also feature a dedicated seminar and conference program focusing on the latest trends and new techniques for converters and converting processes. More information is available on the shows website :
